The Year 2023; A MOMENT OF THANKFULNESS

Alexandra Vonk, European destination wedding photographer

This has been a year of profound gratitude, filled with countless opportunities and adventures that have taken me to breathtaking places.

From the romantic allure of Paris to the enchanting charm of The Loire in France, the vibrant scenes of Spain, the serene beauty of Lake Como, the rolling hills of Tuscany, the cultural richness of Florence, to the dynamic energy of New York and the tranquil landscapes of North Carolina.

Thankful for the privilege to document exquisite weddings, wonderful engagement- and anniversary sessions and inspiring personal projects, connecting with wonderful people along the way.

I extend my deepest thanks to you, my friends, my couples and the wedding community, for being a part of these adventures.

Cheers to dreams fulfilled and those yet to unfold!

Champagne Towers

This year, there has been a notable rise in the popularity of champagne towers. A trend that I love and hope will continue into 2024.

Favorite dinner settings of 2023

My couples and I share many similarities, one of them is our love for food and the joy of creating cherished memories with family and friends. We relish the moments spent together, surrounded by the beauty of stunningly set tables. Enjoy a few of my favorite dinner settings from this year, adorned with lush and romantic flowers.

This year, a lot of wedding cakes were more minimalistic, elegant and sophisticated. Here are a four of my most favorite designs of 2023.

Personal

A few personal highlights from this year.

Alongside all the beautiful assignments, I found myself in front of the camera earlier this year with my dear colleague Audra Wrisley. It was time for some new portrait photos for my website.

After having the same website for 5 years, it was time for a new one that better aligns with my current brand. I am still over the moon with it.

A few months later, to complete the finishing touches on the new website, La Lettre Kalligrafie designed my first ever Monogram. You can see it in action on my website.

Last month I had the pleasure to get creative with a few talented Dutch artists from the wedding industry. We created some beautiful bridal looks with the gowns of one of my favorite Dutch designer Edwin Oudshoorn. More coming soon but here is a little sneak preview.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing some of my highlights of 2023. Thank you all for being a part of my journey. Best wishes for 2024 from my family to yours!

Cheers!!
