If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Tuscany, few places feel as timeless and romantic as Castello di Celsa. Nestled in the rolling hills just outside Siena, this historic Italian castle set the stage for Kelsey and Alex’s unforgettable wedding weekend. Traveling all the way from New York, this American–Canadian couple gathered their closest family and friends for a multi-day celebration filled with beauty, connection, and unforgettable moments under the Tuscan sky.
From an intimate rehearsal dinner at Castello Poggiarello to a stylish wedding day at Castello di Celsa, every moment reflected their love for meaningful experiences, elegant design, and authentic celebration.
A Vintage Car Photo Session in the Tuscan Countryside
Before the welcome festivities began, we took advantage of the golden Tuscan light for a relaxed and romantic photo session with a vintage car. Surrounded by cypress trees and rolling hills, Kelsey and Alex embraced the quiet moments together before the weekend’s celebrations fully unfolded.
The vintage car added a touch of classic Italian charm, perfectly complementing the historic surroundings. These portraits captured the essence of a destination wedding in Tuscany — effortless romance, beautiful landscapes, and timeless style. The calm atmosphere also allowed the couple to slow down, connect, and soak in the excitement of the days ahead.

A Magical Pizza Welcome Party at Castello Poggiarello
The wedding weekend officially kicked off with a rehearsal dinner and pizza welcome party at the enchanting Castello Poggiarello. Originally built as a fortified castle in the mid-13th century, Castello Poggiarello began as a defensive stronghold guarding the rural countryside southwest of Siena.
By the Renaissance, the estate had evolved from a military outpost into a noble residence under the ownership of influential families such as the Chigi Saracini, who added refined elements including a chapel possibly attributed to architect Baldassarre Peruzzi.
Today, the estate remains a stunning blend of history, architecture, and Tuscan viticulture, surrounded by organic vineyards, olive groves, and centuries-old gardens, making it a uniquely atmospheric setting for intimate celebrations like Kelsey and Alex’s rehearsal dinner.
Guests gathered under the warm Tuscan evening sky, enjoying authentic Italian pizza, local wines, and the relaxed atmosphere that makes destination weddings in Italy so special. Long tables, candlelight, laughter, and heartfelt toasts set the tone for the weekend. The setting felt intimate and welcoming, which was a perfect opportunity for family and friends traveling from abroad to connect before the big day. The combination of historic architecture, delicious food, and genuine joy created a magical start to Kelsey and Alex’s wedding celebration.

A Romantic Castello di Celsa Wedding in Tuscany
The wedding day at Castello di Celsa was nothing short of extraordinary. This iconic Tuscan castle offered a breathtaking backdrop for every moment. From the elegant ceremony to the lively outdoor reception.
One of the standout details was the bridal party’s chic black dresses. The bridesmaids looked effortlessly stylish, adding a modern and sophisticated contrast against the historic Italian architecture. The overall aesthetic blended timeless romance with contemporary elegance, perfectly reflecting the couple’s vision.
As the evening unfolded, nature added its own unexpected twist, a gentle rain shower. Instead of disrupting the celebration, it created a magical atmosphere. Guests embraced the moment wholeheartedly, remaining outside and celebrating together under the stars. Their energy and positivity turned the evening into something truly unforgettable.
The soft rain, glowing lights, and joyful crowd resulted in some of the most epic and emotional photographs of the entire day. These moments beautifully captured the spirit of love, resilience, and genuine celebration that defines a Castello di Celsa wedding.
