A multi-day destination wedding at Chateau de Jalesnes, Loire, France

Morgan and Felix planned a multi-day destination château wedding in France, creating a wedding weekend that allowed them to slow down, connect with their guests, and celebrate across several thoughtfully designed events—each with its own style, atmosphere, and cultural meaning.

Set against the romantic backdrop of Château de Jalesnes, their celebration beautifully blended traditions, a deep love for food, and a sunset-inspired color palette bursting with orange, pink, red, and soft cream tones.

Welcome Dinner at Château de Jalesnes

The wedding weekend began with a relaxed yet refined welcome dinner at Château de Jalesnes, allowing guests to settle into the rhythm of the weekend. Inspired by their surroundings, Morgan and Felix leaned into French flavors and warm, inviting colors that reflected the start of a summer evening in the Loire Valley.

L’Orée des Bois served elegant French cuisine, setting the tone for a weekend centered around shared meals and meaningful moments. The atmosphere was intentionally intimate. Less about formalities and more about connection, laughter, and bringing families together in one place.

Chinese Tea Ceremony: Honoring Heritage Through Tradition

One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend was the Chinese tea ceremony, a tradition deeply important to Felix’s family. While new to many guests, Morgan was intentional about making everyone feel included, an approach rooted in her Jewish upbringing and her grandparents’ belief that family is something you actively create.

The ceremony featured traditional elements such as double happiness symbols, red dates, and traditional-inspired attire, with extra seating so guests could witness and understand the ritual. It became a beautiful bridge between cultures and generations, reinforcing the spirit of unity that defined the entire weekend.

Rehearsal Dinner at Fontevraud Abbey

For the rehearsal dinner, guests were transported to Fontevraud Abbey, the oldest surviving monastic complex of its kind. The historic setting required little embellishment, its stone architecture and serene energy spoke for themselves. being in this stunning place, we had to start the evening with a quick couple session.

Chef Thibaut Ruggeri curated a thoughtful menu that echoed the abbey’s elegance, while the décor embraced the natural textures and timeless atmosphere of the space. It was a quieter, reflective evening that offered contrast to the vibrant celebrations still to come.

The Wedding Day at Château de Jalesnes

The next day, Morgan and Felix exchanged vows during a joyful Jewish wedding ceremony held at Château de Jalesnes. The ceremony took place beneath a lush floral chuppah designed by Esther Lamarche Design, overflowing with sunset hues meant to feel like “walking through a field of flowers at golden hour.”

Morgan wore Monique Lhuillier’s Masterpiece gown, complete with a custom jacket and dramatic cape, an elevated look that stood up beautifully to the grandeur of the château. Her glowing makeup was done by Onorina Jomir, and later that night she changed into a ’70s-inspired fringed mini dress by Taller Marmo for the after-party.

The ceremony itself was filled with laughter, warmth, and personality. “The moment I walked out with my dad, all my nerves disappeared,” Morgan shared. “From then on, all I could see was Felix.”

Dinner, Dancing & a Surprise Fireworks Show

Guests gathered at one long table beneath a canopy of flowers and lights, creating an atmosphere that felt both communal and cinematic. Morgan and Felix shared their first dance to Ingrid Michaelson’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, a moment that seamlessly transitioned into a surprise fireworks show that lit up the French night sky.

The celebration continued with live music by Jazz Around Midnight, desserts by Grand Chemin, and an energetic horah that brought everyone onto the dance floor. A Champagne tower poured late into the night, fueling the party well into the early morning hours.

“The fireworks were absolutely surreal,” Morgan recalls. “It’s one of those moments I replay in my mind over and over, it was just perfect.”

Farewell Brunch: Ending the Multi-day Celebration Together

The final event of the weekend was a relaxed farewell brunch, giving guests one last chance to gather, reminisce, and savor the slower pace of destination wedding weekends. After days filled with culture, color, music, and shared meals, it was the perfect closing chapter, unhurried, heartfelt, and full of gratitude.

A Multi-day Destination Wedding Focused on Connection

Morgan and Felix’s Château de Jalesnes wedding was a masterclass in intentional celebration. By stretching their wedding across several days, honoring both of their heritages, and designing each event with its own identity, they created an experience that felt deeply personal and unforgettable, for themselves and for everyone who traveled to France to celebrate with them.
Planned by Apricity Event Co., photographed by Alexandra Vonk, and filmed by Our Story Creative, this four-day celebration proved that when weddings are rooted in meaning, culture, and togetherness, they become so much more than just a single day.
